Each laboratory cabinet base unit is designed on a “building block” concept. They fit together perfectly and are easy to install, and if your needs change, they are equally easy to rearrange and add to. Steel cabinets can also be built with casters for mobility, or with special suspension or framing systems.

Built to Withstand Years of Wear and Tear

Laboratories are tough environments. That's why Hawkins Scientific laboratory furniture base units are manufactured with heavy-gauge, cold-rolled steel, rigidly reinforced with a welded tubular top frame to resist racking. Steel casework units are finished inside and out with a baked-on epoxy coating formulated for the laboratory environment, conforming strictly to SEFA standard performance requirements.

Quality Drawer Glides

Laboratory casework drawers are provided with a full-extension, ball-bearing, plated drawer slide so you can retrieve stored objects — even those in the very back — easily. Doors and drawers are easy to remove for cleaning, decontamination or repair, and hinges and drawer/cabinet bottoms are replaceable. Drawers are constructed so they cannot fall out, eliminating a source of accidents.

Durable Hinges

For the greatest durability, five-knuckle hinges are provided in Hawkins Scientific steel casework. Handles are available as classic-style bale pull or optional flush handles — flush handles are desirable in tight quarters to prevent lab coats or carts from getting caught.

In those instances when disinfection is required, Hawkins can supply you with stainless steel lab cabinets.
